Making progress! I've turned in homework for Matthew and Mark for New Testament class. I'm embroidering an apron with religious symbols and words for the craft part of my NT homework. I'm going to give it to Zinnia for her birthday in early fall. I registered for my Spring classes already. I'm taking Ethics and Professional Practice, Divination Practicum (Runes) and Shadow Work, which is a Shamanism class, the book looks good for that one. Plus another student at school who got her degree already is teaching it. I'm so competitive. OK, I'm not that competitive. I'm doing so much independent work, I feel like I'm just competing against myself most of the time. I'm sure Ruby knows her stuff!
I'm still waiting to hear about Peer Counseling Training. There's a class coming up.
Things at home are improving. I'm getting along better with my family. I wish I saw more of Star. She's got a new life now with her boyfriend, Yeti. He is tall! :)
My Grad School Adventures. This blog is to relieve the stress of school and life. This is writing therapy. It is also a forum for my creative adventures: writing and crafting.

Oh Deer!
This month's Happiness Project is much easier. For August I'm doing Spirituality. Literally taking action if you want to call it that. The four things I'm trying to do every day are: have some quiet time, do a reading, pray and read a self-help book. I have a few self-help books so I don't think I'll run out for awhile. I'm currently reading Earth Magic by Steven D. Farmer. It's pretty good if a little bit out there. I know, I know, I'm the one taking Shamanism! A friend of mine once said "If you keep an open mind, people will throw junk in it." I don't subscribe to that attitude. I took some pictures of the deer in my front yard yesterday. Here is one:
Class registration is starting. I'm going to take the I-Ching year-long course if its offered and Runes 5. I haven't yet registered. I'm going to wait a little bit. I know, I should be taking proper classes, not just Divination, but with my independent study Interfaith and the Shamanism stuff, there's no way. Of course the degrees offered at Nature U. are a little different than when they were first offered! Dean Dharma has added credits needed and a Master's Thesis to all the programs. Still not sure how all that will effect my degree progress. Low tide is at 3:56pm tomorrow. Now, why is that relevant? You'll see!

Monday Night
Well, I'm not hypomanic or anything. Just hadn't gotten enough sleep for some time. But I slept well last night and the night before. I'm making dinner right now. I don't usually eat this late, but I had a poetry chat with my online poetry group. My best friend, Star, is coming over later. She wants to fix my hair, so I don't know if we are going out or what. It's Monday night, but anything is possible. I did one of my meditations for Shamanism last night. I feel so good afterward. It's nice to just be quiet and still with just incense and a candle going. That's for my Norse Mythology based Shamanism course which I'll just call Ancient Rites. The other one I haven't worked on for awhile which has a more modern bent, I'll call that one Modern Rituals. I'm in the first year of both studies. But I've been in the first year of Modern Rituals for two and a half years now. Sigh. Well, playtime tonight!
